Instructions
Take a large saucepan and heat the oil.
Sauté onions in oil over medium heat for about 10 minutes until softened.
Add the garlic and carrot and cook for 5 more minutes.
Stir in tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer.
Reduce the heat to medium and let is simmer covered for 20 minutes.
